You're ready to book your session. You can email, text, FB message, or call us to schedule your session.

Now you're on the schedule and you don't know what you should do next before your session. Depending on the session there are many different things you can do to prepare for your session with us.

If you scheduled an ENGAGEMENT, FAMILY, or GROUP portrait session the one thing to really think about is color coordinating. If you have a Pinterest account you can find many different suggestions for different seasons. Solid colors will help your images look timeless. Patterns often are easily dated. Stay away from stripes and thin plaid designs as well as they can give a distorting look to your image. If everyone isn't wearing black or white, or the same uniform color, try picking complimentary colors. When dealing with colors its best to not have everyone try to find the same color, because you'll end up with everyone having a different shade and tone of that color and it just doesn't look as sharp. You can always consult us if you're unsure.

If we are shooting your WEDDING there are a few things to be thinking about.

Have you scheduled your engagement session yet? Even if you don't want engagement photos this is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other more so you know what to expect on your wedding day. If one or both of you are camera shy we can help you feel more confident in front of the camera. Understanding how we work before the big day only maximizes your potential for more images.

If you have specific ideas or shots in mind for your wedding, please let us know ahead of time so we make sure we plan out our shot list efficiently. So many things come up on the big day and everything rarely goes to plan. We do our best to plan for the unexpected, but the thing about the unexpected is that it's unexpected. You can message, email or text us anytime with screenshots from pinterest or whatever you have found.

Be thinking about your 'first look', if it's a private moment before the ceremony or walking down the aisle. If it's before the ceremony, do you want it entirely private or do you mind if friends and family are around watching. Because, trust me if you don't tell them you want to have your privacy they'll be right there watching you. If your first look is walking down the aisle it is very important to talk to the officiant, family, coordinators, and whoever you can before the big day that you want everyone to leave their phones and any other devices alone during the ceremony. the last thing we want to do is miss the most beautiful expression on either one of your faces, because Aunt Lulu or whoever stepped out in front of us to snap a picture of you walking down the aisle on their phone. Remind them that you have invested a lot of money into a professional photographer and everyone will get the chance to see all the photos and even purchase beautiful prints if they wish. You have invited them to be apart of your ceremony, and trust us when we say, you can't truly be there and take it all in looking through a lens.

If you have a wedding planner or anyone helping organize everything, we would like to be in touch with them. Photos are the one thing that you keep using after the big day. You'll want photos for your thank yous, prints and canvases to hang on the wall and give as gifts to your parents, and more. So we want to work with your wedding planner to make certain we have adequate time to get in everything we had talked to you about. We can always tack on more time at the end, but we don't want to charge you more for something that could of easily fit in to the original time frame, and somethings like sunset portraits can't be done later.

One thing we want all our couples to remember is, this is YOUR day. Your parents already had theirs like most of your guests and everyone else will get their turn. We hate seeing our couples stressing out about keeping everyone else happy and doing ridiculous things that aren't true to them or not important to them. We hope that you'll only get married once and that you enjoy the day and look back with no regrets.

If you scheduled a BOUDOIR session we probably already talked to you about all the steps to get you ready for your session. But, in case you forgot here are a couple things to be thinking about:

Hair & Make Up- Are you going to have professional hair and makeup done or are you doing it yourself? We have professionals that we can put you in contact with.

Tan- NO spray tans, gels, or lotions. It's easier to warm up your skin in post processing than it is to edit all the blotches and such that come with self tanners.

Outfits- Bring EXTRAS! You'll also want to try them on before hand. On the day of your session wear loose fitting clothing to avoid lines.

Drink Plenty of Fluids- Three words: Water. Water. Water. And make sure to avoid alcohol and salt, as these will turn your lovely skin to the texture of potato chips and gives you bags under the eyes.

Rest- Make sure to get your beauty rest the night before.
